Anxiety is running your life.

Let's change that.

BABCP-accredited CBT therapy for women navigating anxiety, overwhelm, and the pressure to hold it all together. London Bridge SE1 and online.

Does this sound familiar? Here's what nobody tells you about anxiety: it doesn't always look like panic.

For a lot of women, it looks like being very, very good at keeping it together — while internally running on empty, catastrophising, and not remembering the last time you actually switched off.

It looks like a full life from the outside. It feels relentless from the inside.

And at some point, just managing it stops being enough.

•      Difficulty switching off, even when nothing is actually wrong

•      Overthinking and worst-case thinking on a loop

•      Trouble sleeping or waking in the night with worry

•      Irritability or a short fuse that surprises even you

•      Physical tension — jaw, shoulders, chest tightness

•      Avoiding things that feel too uncertain

•      Constant "what if" thoughts that won't quieten

•      Feeling like you can't slow down, even when you want to

If you're nodding — you're in the right place.

Anxiety isn’t a character flaw. It’s often what happens when capable, conscientious women carry too much, for too long, without enough support.

How CBT actually helps with anxiety

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of the most well-researched treatments for anxiety. It works by helping you understand the connection between what you think, how you feel, and what you do — and shifting the patterns that keep anxiety going.

CBT for anxiety isn't about positive thinking or being told to simply relax. It's structured, practical, and collaborative — and the goal is for you to leave with a toolkit you actually own, not a dependency on me.

1.   We make sense of your anxiety — what triggers it, how it shows up, what patterns have developed

2.   We examine the thoughts and beliefs that fuel it — gently, honestly, without judgement

3.   We shift the behaviours that maintain anxiety in the long run — avoidance, overplanning, reassurance-seeking

You leave with genuine understanding of your anxiety and the confidence to manage it independently

Working with me

I'm Natalie McCandless, a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with over 17 years' experience. I work exclusively with women — not because it's a good niche, but because I am a woman in my 40s who has lived through many of the things my clients come to me with.

Anxiety. Burnout. Perimenopause. A late ADHD diagnosis. Postnatal depression. I bring both clinical expertise and genuine personal understanding to this work.

My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I don't do clinical distance. I do real conversation, honesty, and a space where you can finally stop performing okay.

Is this right for you?

You don't need to be in crisis. You don't need a dramatic reason. This works well if:

•      You're ready to understand your anxiety, not just manage it

•      You want to work with someone who is direct — not just validating

•      You've tried managing alone and it's not enough any more

•      You want practical tools, not just a space to talk

•      Something in your life has shifted and your anxiety has come with it

•      You're functioning fine — but exhausted by the effort it takes

If something in you is saying yes while you read this — that's enough. That's where we start.

Ready to stop just coping?
